Greenville, SC (September 18, 2026) – Sarah Burns, Senior BSA and Fraud Investigator for Spero Financial, has been named to Greenville Business Magazine’s 2026 Best and Brightest 35 and Under list. Each year, this list recognizes young people who are committed to making a difference in the Upstate community and business world.
Sarah began her career in the financial industry over twelve years ago, starting in branch roles, moving on to a regional management position, and eventually finding her passion in the BSA department.
She first joined Team Spero in 2021 as a Member Service Advisor before transitioning into the Compliance department in 2023. She was promoted to Senior BSA and Fraud Investigator in May of this year.
In her current role, Sarah works closely with law enforcement to disrupt criminal use of the financial system. Through educational campaigns, internal trainings, and direct intervention, Sarah ensures that Spero Financial's members are protected from fraudulent activity.
Recently, Sarah obtained her Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Earning the CFE designation required Sarah to master key areas of fraud deterrence, meet stringent professional and ethical standards, pass a rigorous four-part examination, and commit to ongoing professional development with continued education requirements.
When she learned of this recognition, Sarah shared, "It is truly such an honor to be recognized as one of Greenville’s Best & Brightest alongside so many other talented and passionate professionals! I am so very grateful for the support and opportunities that I have received at Spero Financial which allow me to make a positive impact on our community and play a part in the fight against fraud.

Sarah and other award recipients were recognized in a ceremony on September 14th at City Club of Greenville.
