Greenville, SC (June 16, 2025) – Spero Financial announces the Louis C. Addison College Scholarship Winners for the 2024-2025 academic year. The three scholarships are awarded to local students pursuing higher education.
Named to honor long-time Spero board member Louis (Lou) C. Addison for his love for helping people, since 2010, the credit union has awarded $142,000 in scholarships to recipients.
This year’s scholarship winners are Connor Jibben (left), Julia McConnell (middle), and Salfia Kalagayan (right).
Connor Jibben will join Anderson University’s Class of 2028 as a finance major. His commitment to academics is matched by his dedication to service with organizations including AnMed Health, Meals on Wheels, and United Way’s Youth Volunteer Corps.
Julia McConnell is the valedictorian of Powdersville High School and has completed dual enrollment courses at Tri-County Technical College. In fall 2025, she will begin her studies in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of South Carolina.
Salfia Kalagayan is an accomplished poet and Masters of Fine Arts candidate in poetry at Converse University. She currently serves as a Poetry Editor for Agape Review. In 2023, she graduated from Bob Jones University with her Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
