We are excited to welcome David to the team! David Konfara has joined Team Spero as the Vice President of Card Solutions and Payments. A little league baseball coach by night and an experienced card programs expert by day, David brings an array of talent and skill to the team!
With 15 years of experience working with credit unions on various card programs and payment channels, David has spent much of his career working to enhance card and payment offerings, while keeping up with the ever-changing technology in the industry.
Below, David shares a bit more about his role with Spero and what he enjoys doing in his free time!
What are your responsibilities as VP of Card Solutions and Payments?
As VP of Card Solutions & Payments, I oversee much of Spero's card offering (credit cards and debit cards), as well as ACH and IRA's. My team plays a part in many of the member touchpoints and with our mission of improving the financial lives of our members, we play a vital role in doing just that.
How has your immersion into Team Spero gone?
The team at Spero has been amazing, and my “immersion” has been a smooth one. Having known several members of the Spero team in my previous work history has helped me hit the ground running, not to mention my knowledge of the card programs. Without question, the thing I have liked the most has been the culture and family feel of the Credit Union. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help!
Tell us a little about you! What do you like to do in your free time?
I am originally from the Detroit, MI area, and I am a diehard Detroit sports fan, especially the Detroit Lions. I have been married to my wife, Katie, for 10 years (as of September) and we have a son, Sam, who is 8 and a daughter, Dylan, who is 6. We also have a boxer named Frisbee. My children take up the vast majority of my free time, so my recent community involvement has revolved around coaching two of my son’s baseball teams. I have historically been active in Credit Union community events as well. In my free time (when I have some), I enjoy watching football, spending time with my family/friends, playing golf, or have been busy with some DIY home remodeling.
